Brand new, built with 100% new parts / assembled & tested / ready to ship
Amtrans "Golden SQ" Paper Film and Polyester in Squalane Oil (.1uF @ 630 volts) coupling capacitors. These caps are incredibly smooth with an extended detail and warmth.
The bypass caps are upgraded to CDE 940C Series (.047uF 630 Volts) Capacitors (polypropylene film with dual metallized electrodes)
The small pF caps are NPO C0G Types for superior linearity - KEMET (390pF @ 1000V) and KEMET (82pf @ 630V).
Amtrans AMRG carbon film (1%) resistors, selected to provide that warm, rich and lifelike signature sound.
New OEM Dynakit driver board with the Dynaco 6GH8A circuit. (6U8A and 6EA8 tubes can also be used).
Belton tube sockets on the circuit board.
The filter capacitor is hand polished to a nice shine, it is a Dynakit 30/20/20/20uF quad cap, rated for 525 volts.
Standard bias circuit and bias supply.
Each amplifier uses a brand new Dynakit PA-135 power transformer and a new A-470 output transformer.
Output impedance options are 4Ω, 8Ω and 16Ω ohms.
The output terminals are upgraded to barrier block type terminals. (gold spade adapters included for using banana plugs)
The RCA inputs are upgraded to high quality gold plated pieces for improved contact and corrosion resistance.
Heavy Duty 16/2 Power Cables
Each amp includes the Brown steel cover/cage.
The gleaming trophy quality chassis is from Dynakit made with mirror polished stainless steel (non magnetic), it is just a work of art.
Tubes Included:
(4) EL34 Power Tubes - Matched Pairs
(2) 5AR4/GZ34 Rectifier Tubes
(2) 6U8A (NOS) Driver Tubes
Careful consideration is given when choosing components for the amp that will contribute to, support, and reveal the beautiful details and amazing sonic characteristics of vacuum tubes. Even order harmonics are favorable to the western musical scale and are more pleasing to the ear than the harsh and fatiguing odd order harmonics generated with solid state.
Essentially, each MK IV is 1/2 of a Dynaco 70 with a few more watts available. The proprietary PA-135 output transformers push each amp at 40 watts continuously and up to 90 watts peak. Each channel has an A-470 output transformer, just like an ST-70 uses. The amplifier/driver circuit even uses the same component values and topology as the ST-70. Because each amp has its own set of transformers and its own driver board a true stereo separation is achieved beyond what the ST-70 is capable of. Each amp also utilizes its own 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier and filter capacitor, so these duties are accomplished more efficiently and effectively than with an ST-70, which shares a single rectifier tube and filter capacitor between each channel. All of the under chassis resistors associated with power regulation and filtering are 1% metal films by PRP and TKD/Correctohm.
